Advanced Seal is who you need to go with if you want spray foam done. Any time we have had them out for a job is it done the same day, even some very large areas. As you can see in the pictures attached they take great pride in not only doing a good job & matching their pledge on foam amount; but also are the cleanest you will find at applying it. No mess, no overspray, done how you would hope it would be. Great people to work with!

Steve and his team came out and did an excellent job for us. We had mice, bats, and possibly a squirrel living in our attics. They came in and sucked out the old insulation, sealed cracks/openings, and applied the spray foam to replace the blown in insulation. They cleaned up after themselves, did excellent work, and hauled everything away. They responded quickly when I first reached out, educated us on what our issues were and how to move forward, and treated our home as if they were working on their own home. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

This is the second time I have contacted Steve at Advance Seal for spray foam at my house. They came out in 2021 on short notice and sprayed my crawl space before winter. This time around they spray foamed my 40 x 64 pole building. Quality of work, and professionalism is by far the best in our area. 👌

Steve is simply the best. I’ve had him 3 different times for different projects. Always the same. Work is done correctly and efficiently and looks great. The best is his attention to the small stuff, drop clothes, plastic to cover things to not be damaged. Then the clean up after. Besides having the unbelievable warmth and sealing the foam does. It was like they were never here. I truly wish every contractor I worked with was just like Steve I cannot say Enough good things about him. I’ve always felt like he gives me more than what I paid for. Highly highly recommend

Frequently Asked Questions

Attic insulation cost depends on attic size, access, existing insulation condition, air-leak sealing needs, and the material you choose (spray foam vs. blown-in). Homes with uneven temperatures, big drafts, or moisture concerns often need more prep work, which affects the final number. The best way to get a reliable budget is a quick on-site assessment and a written scope.
In Lafayette’s hot, humid summers and cold winters, a poorly insulated attic can drive HVAC runtime and create uncomfortable rooms. Upgrading insulation can reduce heat gain in summer and heat loss in winter, which often translates to lower heating/cooling costs. Results vary by your home’s current insulation level, air leakage, ductwork, and thermostat habits.
Spray foam can be a strong option when air sealing is a priority because it helps reduce air leakage while insulating. Blown-in insulation can be a great value when you need to add depth and improve R-value across a large attic floor. The best choice depends on roof design, ventilation strategy, budget, and whether you’re fixing drafts, moisture issues, or comfort problems.
Common signs include uneven temperatures between rooms, rooms that overheat in summer, cold ceilings in winter, higher-than-expected utility bills, and persistent drafts. You might also notice insulation that’s thin, disturbed, dirty, or compressed. If your attic has air leaks around penetrations (lights, pipes, chases), insulation alone may not solve comfort until those leaks are addressed.
Yes—attic insulation can reduce noise transmission, especially airborne sounds. While it won’t “soundproof” a home by itself, adding insulation depth and improving attic sealing can noticeably quiet things down. If outside noise is a major concern, the right material choice and coverage consistency matter more than simply “adding a little extra” in a few spots.
It can. A well-insulated, properly sealed attic can reduce the movement of dusty attic air into your living space and help limit outdoor pollutants that enter through gaps. On the Lafayette page, Advanced Seal emphasizes comfort, efficiency, and improved air quality as outcomes of professional attic insulation. If allergens are a concern, sealing bypasses is often just as important as insulation depth.
Not if it’s done with the right plan. Moisture issues typically come from warm, humid indoor air leaking into a cold attic (especially in winter), combined with weak ventilation paths. The goal is to control air leakage and maintain proper intake/exhaust ventilation where your roof design calls for it. If you’ve seen condensation, staining, or a musty smell, address those causes before simply adding more insulation.
Often, yes—especially in vented attics with soffit intake ventilation. Baffles help keep insulation from blocking airflow at the eaves and support consistent ventilation from soffit to ridge (or other exhaust). They’re most important when adding blown-in insulation near the perimeter, where insulation can drift or pile up and choke intake vents over time.
Mold concerns should trigger an inspection—not guesswork. Mold is usually a symptom of moisture, air leakage, or ventilation imbalance. A good attic plan looks at bathroom fan ducting, roof leaks, insulation coverage, and air sealing around penetrations. If mold is suspected, it may require remediation steps before insulation is upgraded so you don’t “seal in” a problem.
On this page, Advanced Seal Spray Foam Insulation highlights spray foam and blown-in insulation for attic projects, serving both residential and commercial properties in Lafayette. The right choice depends on the attic’s configuration, whether air sealing is needed, and your comfort/efficiency goals. A site visit helps match the material to the problem you’re solving.
Target R-values depend on climate zone and your attic’s design. Many Indiana homes align with guidance that commonly lands in the R-49 to R-60 range for attics, especially when retrofitting or upgrading older insulation. The practical approach is to measure what you have today, then build a plan that improves performance without blocking ventilation or creating moisture risk.
Sometimes yes, but not always. If the existing insulation is clean, dry, and evenly distributed, adding more can be effective. If it’s contaminated (pest activity), wet, moldy, or heavily compacted, it may need removal before upgrading. The goal is consistent coverage and a dry attic—not just more inches in random areas.
A typical project starts with a quick assessment of your attic: current insulation depth/condition, air leakage points, ventilation paths, and any moisture/pest red flags. Then the crew protects the work area, completes any needed sealing or prep, installs the insulation (spray foam or blown-in), and cleans up. Your scope should specify where insulation goes and how performance will be improved.
Many attic insulation projects can be completed in a day, but timing depends on attic size, access, prep needs, and whether old insulation must be removed first. Most work stays in the attic, so disruption is usually limited. If spray foam is used, ask about ventilation, re-entry timing, and any areas that should be kept off-limits until the job is complete.
Use the contact form on the page to request an inspection/estimate and share what you’re noticing (hot rooms, drafts, high bills, moisture, or pests). Advanced Seal Spray Foam Insulation serves the Greater Lafayette area and can recommend a plan based on your attic’s current performance. If you want a faster, more accurate quote, include your address, attic access notes, and your main comfort goal.
